A new feature in WhatsApp's most recent development build for iOS (Beta 25.20.10.73) allows channel administrators to pose open-ended questions to their audiences. Since the feature's code is in the most recent beta and Meta is actively working on it, WABetaInfo discovered the functionality, which is not yet accessible to the majority of beta users.
The capability will be available through the chat attachment menu, just like poll creation, when it becomes more widely available. For brands and content producers who want more in-depth answers from their communities, the open-ended questions expand on the multiple-choice polling functionality.
With the use of the new Questions function, administrators will be able to post a question for followers to directly answer. When a question expires, administrators can see all of the responses that have been sent to it. If they remove a question, they will also remove all of the related answers, so be careful not to remove it, or you will lose the replies.
Since channels are usually one-way broadcasts from owners to followers, the ability to ask communities questions would be very effective. Other followers won't be able to view the answers when followers reply to these questions.
Meta has been promoting WhatsApp's privacy credentials in recent years. Given that Meta is a massive advertising company, many users find it hard to believe that it genuinely takes precautions to keep talks encrypted. Accordingly, the new Questions feature will protect follower privacy by limiting access to responses to administrators. By preventing other followers from seeing or replying to question responses, users are free to express their true opinions, and the likelihood of disagreements is eliminated.
