🎧 Apple Expands AirPods Pro 2 Hearing Tests & Hearing Aid Features to More Countries

Apple continues to enhance accessibility with the global rollout of Hearing Tests and Hearing Aid functionality for AirPods Pro 2. These powerful health-focused features are now available in even more regions across Europe, Asia, and South America, giving users better hearing support through their Apple devices.

🌍 New Countries Gaining Access to Hearing Tests

Users in the following countries can now take hearing assessments using their AirPods Pro 2 paired with an iPhone or iPad running iOS 18.1 or iPadOS 18.1 or later:

  • 🇦🇷 Argentina
  • 🇪🇨 Ecuador
  • 🇭🇳 Honduras
  • 🇮🇩 Indonesia
  • 🇮🇱 Israel
  • 🇰🇿 Kazakhstan
  • 🇲🇩 Moldova
  • 🇵🇸 Palestinian Territories
  • 🇷🇸 Serbia
  • 🇹🇼 Taiwan
  • 🇹🇭 Thailand
  • 🇺🇦 Ukraine
  • 🇻🇳 Vietnam

The hearing test mimics an audiologist's assessment by playing tones at various frequencies (500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, and 4kHz) and sound levels in each ear. Users tap their iPhone when they hear a sound, and results are presented in decibels Hearing Level (dBHL).

📊 Hearing Test Results Explained

  • 0–25 dBHL: Normal hearing
  • 26–40 dBHL: Mild hearing loss
  • 41–60 dBHL: Moderate hearing loss
  • 61–80 dBHL: Severe hearing loss
  • Above 80 dBHL: Profound hearing loss

🦻 Hearing Aid Functionality: New Country Support

If mild to moderate hearing loss is detected, users are offered the option to enable Hearing Aid Mode—now available in these additional countries:

  • 🇨🇾 Cyprus
  • 🇪🇨 Ecuador
  • 🇭🇳 Honduras
  • 🇮🇩 Indonesia
  • 🇮🇱 Israel
  • 🇰🇿 Kazakhstan
  • 🇲🇩 Moldova
  • 🇵🇸 Palestinian Territories
  • 🇷🇸 Serbia
  • 🇹🇼 Taiwan
  • 🇹🇭 Thailand
  • 🇺🇦 Ukraine
  • 🇻🇳 Vietnam

Note: While Argentina now supports hearing testing, it does not yet support the Hearing Aid feature with AirPods Pro 2.

📱 How the AirPods Pro 2 Hearing Aid Feature Works

Once activated, the Hearing Aid Mode tailors sound output based on the user's hearing profile. It amplifies frequencies where hearing is weaker, improving clarity during conversations and boosting real-world sounds.

Apple also offers a Media Assist feature that automatically adjusts the sound for music, videos, and phone calls based on the results of the hearing test, delivering a more personalized listening experience.

🌐 Global Accessibility Expansion

With this latest update, Apple’s Hearing Health features—including Hearing Tests, Hearing Aid Mode, and Media Assist—are now available in over 150 countries worldwide.
