Google Meet's "Take notes for me" recap emails now have summaries thanks to a recent update.

Google's "Take notes for me" feature, which utilizes Gemini AI to transcribe and summarize sessions, was added to its Meet video calling service in August of last year. An email with a link to a Google Doc with all of the generated notes is delivered once a call concludes. Now, the business is improving the usefulness of that follow-up email on its own.

The description of the meeting and a list of "suggested next steps" will now be included in the recap email itself, rather than just a link that you must open in a separate tab. This implies that you may quickly review what transpired and who is responsible for what without ever leaving your email.

Additionally, Google is giving meeting organizers additional authority. Using a web browser, meeting hosts and co-hosts can now choose who gets these recap notes: all invited attendees, simply invited people from your organization, or just the hosts and co-hosts.

Additionally, according to Google, this updated sharing option will be maintained for that meeting as well as any future meetings in the series.

Google has referred to this upgrade as a "extended rollout" and it may take more than 15 days for the feature to be available to all users.

Although some wait may still be needed, you will get the update before those on the Scheduled Release track if you're on Rapid Release, which is the track that brings new features to your organization first.

All users of Gemini Enterprise and the AI Meetings & Messaging add-ons, as well as certain Google Workspace subscribers on Business Standard and Plus and Enterprise Standard and Plus, can access the service.

In other Meet news, Google is simplifying the process of displaying physical objects during a call. For educators who have document cameras, the company's new addition of the ability to show straight from a video stream sounds fantastic. The feature currently supports video up to 1080p at 30FPS, and began rollout last month.
