The Redmond tech company's top option for Office applications and cloud storage, among other things, is Microsoft 365. Microsoft offers both consumer- and enterprise-oriented subscriptions for this solution, enabling customers to take full advantage of cloud-powered capabilities, in contrast to the LTSC versions of Office. The good news is that Microsoft keeps a close eye on the frequent upgrades to its 365 apps and services through its public roadmap.
In the last week or so, the Redmond company has added a lot of items to its Microsoft 365 Roadmap, including some intriguing features that might pique the interest of its clients. First of all, Word is receiving a really helpful tool that will probably make it easier for users to write intricate documents. To make it easier for users to add citations, Microsoft is integrating third-party reference providers into the Reference tab. This month, GCC, GCC High, and Department of Defense (DoD) customers will be able to access this on desktop and web platforms.
Copilot Notebooks will also soon see a number of enhancements. Using the application's natural language prompts, users can alter the Audio Overviews' format, style, and length. After that, these audio summaries can be stored on OneDrive for further sharing. Next month, all of these features will be available online.
In relation to Copilot, Microsoft is relocating the Copilot Chat navigation pane from the app's right side to its left. In addition to keeping the current features, this reorientation streamlines the navigation process overall and enables Microsoft to add new features like an All-Conversations tab. Starting next month, this will be applied to all clients that use Teams and Outlook online.
Microsoft is also adding regional settings to the latter software, which allow users to modify the datetime and language formats of the application. All Teams clients will have access to this starting next month on desktop, web, iOS, and Android platforms. Next month, Teams' desktop version will be the only one with the capability to look up meetings and participants using the search bar and take action right from there. Viewing summaries, going to the meetings page, and RSVPing are among the available activities.
As you might imagine, the list of elements mentioned above is just the beginning of Microsoft's 365 Roadmap, which now includes 39 items. Visit the dedicated webpage here to learn about further planned features, such as upgrades to Universal Print and additional Copilot enhancements.
