Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are the only two companies in the market for smartphone integration solutions in automobiles. Through a wired or wireless connection, they enable you to use the majority of your phone's apps on the screen of your automobile.
Samsung seems to be developing a substitute for Android Auto, though. An app known as "Samsung Auto" was purportedly accessible in some areas a few months ago. With Baidu CarLife+ or ICCOA CarLink, it may effortlessly link to a variety of automobiles from manufacturers including Audi and BMW, among others. The catch? It only worked with vehicles that were sold only in China.
Now, a leaker on X going by the handle GalaxyTechie claims that Samsung might have a substitute ready for the international market. The leaker found "Auto DeX," a new feature in Samsung software that reportedly supports more than 8,500 car models from more than 120 companies.
An Android Auto/Apple CarPlay-like user interface, incorporating Samsung's One UI, may be seen in the screenshot that is attached. A navigation section sits in the middle, followed by a Now Brief panel on the top-right and a music player widget immediately beneath it.
Time is displayed at the top of a horizontal list of programs on the far left. Samsung's three-button navigation is located on the bottom right. It's interesting to note that according to GalaxyTechie, anyone will be able to utilize Auto DeX on their phone, regardless of whether they have a car or not.
Regarding the app Samsung will offer the world as a substitute for Android Auto, there is currently some uncertainty. At the next Unpacked presentation, Samsung might even show us a preview of its Android Auto substitute.
